These are our favourite beauty finds for summer - and fall

Summer is here and we don’t know about y’all, but it seems like the best time to try some new beauty products. Below, we present our favourite beauty brands of the moment that we predict are going to be flying off the shelves in months to come.

JUS BY OREYA

Hair Dew, $46.

Who doesn’t love a good hair oil? Hair oil is one of the easiest beauty products to add to your beauty routine to achieve healthy locks over time. Out of Canada, Jus by Oreya brings a hair oil, applied to damp or dry hair, meant to draw moisture into strands with the honey ingredient (source from their very own beekeeper) and keep follicles sealed with an anti-frizz agent, glycerin. The scent is fresh pineapple and with an ingredient like castor oil, which contains a large volume of fatty acids, it looks like a superhero hair product to achieve healthy, strong hair

RUTH

Veggie, $14. Currently sold out but follow @ruthpolish for stock updates.

Ok so this nail polish line was started by one of our favourite influencers, Courtnee Crews. The Louisiana-native is currently based in Los Angeles and apart from being a major style inspiration (hello comfy-chic), she also just launched her own line, Ruth Polish. New colours tend to sell out almost immediately, so we highly recommend getting your hands on these fast-drying polishes as soon as you can. Another pro? They’re vegan, and harsh chemical free.

VESCA BEAUTY

Soft Sun Radiant Skin, $30..

Everyone loves a good dewy makeup look, and for us, we can’t wait to try the Vesca Beauty illuminzier and primer. It can be worn under or over foundation, or on its own. The best part is that it appears to be quiet light in texture and what results is subtle glow (instead of the often sparkly primer we see when used over foundation). The Radiant Skin comes in three colour codes: Dawn, Sunrise, and First Blush, with the Canadian company sharing it can be used among all skin tones.

CROWN AFFAIR

The Comb No. 002, $38.

Launched in 2019 by New York’s Diana Cohen, Crown Affair is all about achieving glossy, healthy-looking hair without constant trips to the salon. The hair care starter pack, or, The Set, includes a nourishing oil, sumptuous towel among other things, and Swiss-made The Comb No.002, a 100% biodegradable hair tool screaming with major cool factors for your vanity table. This brand is ethically made and is all about bringing the ritual back to hair-care in the home.

HYPER CLEAR

Brightening Clearing Vitamin C Serum, $36.

We’re always shopping around for a new serum, and especially when sun spots are forming during the summer months, we’re excited to give our skin a little bit of rehab with a layer of the Hyper Clear Vitamin C Serum. This serum is packed with 15% Vitamin C, which acts as a smoothing and brightening agent to dark spots, but also turmeric for inflammation.

TULURA

Revealing Botanical Oil Cleanser, $64.

We’ve had our eye on this beautiful product for a while now, which is mostly thanks to New York-based muse and influencer, @babba. Recently, though, we’ve been on the search for an impactful oil cleanser that would leave the skin feeling nourished. The best part about this cleanser is that although it is a botanical-infused oil cleanser, it also contains active ingredients like salicylic and tea tree oil, which helps to combat acne. Founder Eileen Feighny, a licensed esthetician and certified aromatherapist, notes that it was her experience living in Hawaii and South Korea that inspired her to create a line of products specific to the season. You can check out season-specific serums so that your skin stays nourished and healthy in the harshest of weather.

KNC BEAUTY

Supa Balm OG Rose, $22.

Do you guys remember maybe a year ago when those clear lip masks were a thing on Instagram? Well, KNC Beauty was one of the originators. Apart from the treatment masks for lips, they also have what has become a cult classic - the Supa Balm lip balm. Packed with plumping ingredients and free from animal cruelty, this nutrient-rich lip care comes in two flavours: rose, and mint. Unfortunately, their website is currently sold out of rose, but we snagged one here at Gee Beauty. The tubes are a bit smaller than expected (think size of your palm), however, since trying it, we’re super happy with the texture, and subtle sheen it gives.

SUPERGOOP

Unseen Sunscreen, $34.

This sunscreen is truly the first of its kind. Not only is it classified as a clean chemical product, Supergoop’s Unseen Sunscreen encompasses the essence of the brand: go-to daily skincare product that you feel confident wearing. The Unseen Sunscreen is broad spectrum (SPF 40) and is also sweat and water resistant. The the best thing about this bad boy is the texture - it’s described as a velvet finish, and in our opinion, is like a soft, matte-primer. Unlike a primer, though, this sunscreen is truly versatile in terms of when you can apply it within your skincare routine because of its non-oily, and non-sticky texture. Our favourite moment to apply the Unseen Sunscreen? After we’d finished with our toner, and daily moisturizer.
